Wright Residency Program

The Wright Center in conjunction with their internal medicine residents have affiliated with G-CMC to provide Hospitalist services to G-CMC patients.

    The Wright Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program has been fully accredited for 5 years by ACGME 2009.

    The Internal Medicine Program of the Wright Center, which is under the leadership of Linda Thomas-Hemak, M.D., is committed to providing patient centered, accessible, safe care delivery to those who will be served by the clinical faculty Hospitalists and their internal medicine residents at G-CMC.

    Managing care during a patient’s stay

    The Wright Center in conjunction with their internal medicine residents have affiliated with G-CMC to provide Hospitalist services to G-CMC patients.

    At G-CMC, there are 4 teams.
    2 teams consisting of Attending Physician, Senior Resident & Intern
    1 consult team consisting of Attending Physician & Senior Resident
    1 ICU team consisting of Attending Physician & 2 Senior Residents

    Wright Center residents will also be doing electives at G-CMC in Pulmonary/Sleep/Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, Neuro, Cardiology and Rheumatology.

    Patient handoffs will take place between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the evenings and between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. in the mornings.

    There will be four attending physicians, each rounding on his/her service, during the day Monday through Friday. One attending physician will be on call from 5:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following day on weekdays.

    On the weekend, one attending physician will take call Friday evening to Monday morning and also do rounds on half the patients on Saturday and Sunday. The second attending will round on the remaining half of patients on Saturday and Sunday.

    The Wright Center is committed to seamless transition of patients between inpatient and outpatient venues of care and will strive for full collaboration with primary care physicians.
