General surgeon joins Geisinger-Community Medical Center

Ricky Clay Jr., M.D., recently joined Geisinger-Community Medical Center (G-CMC) as a general surgeon.

“As we continue to invest in the Scranton community, it is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Clay to our growing surgical program at G-CMC,” said Anthony Aquilina, D.O., chief medical officer, G-CMC. “Dr. Clay’s devotion to high-quality care aligns directly with Geisinger’s values and we believe patients in Lackawanna County will greatly benefit from Dr. Clay’s presence in the region.”

A 2007 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Clay most recently completed a general surgery residency at the Charleston Area Medical Center of West Virginia University, Charleston, W.Va, in June.

Dr. Clay is certified in Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery and is pending certification in DaVinci Robotic Surgery.
