A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls

Do you live alone, or have parents or loved ones with a fear of falling? “A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning program designed to manage and prevent falls while increasing activity levels. Based on research conducted by the Roybal Center for Enhancement of Late-Life Function at Boston University, this program addresses fears of falling and teaches fall prevention strategies.

“A Matter of Balance” is a series of eight, two-hour sessions for groups of 10-12 participants. The activities include group discussion, problem solving, skill building, assertiveness training, sharing practical solutions and exercise training.

G-CMC Construction Update: Now offering free valet parking to Emergency Department patients
Patients at Geisinger-Community Medical Center’s Emergency Department now benefit from free valet parking.
Valets are stationed at the Arthur Avenue Emergency Department entrance from 11 am to 11 pm, seven days a week. This service runs in addition to the valet parking offered to patients and visitors on Colfax Avenue, which charges a small fee for services.
