Geisinger-Community Medical Center Announces Senior Management Team

Robert SteigmeyerSCRANTON, Pa. – Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton announced today the senior management team that will lead the organization in moving its plans forward to build programs, grow services, improve health outcomes and demonstrate value for patients, employers and the community.

Robert Steigmeyer, CMC’s current President & CEO, will remain in his leadership role at Geisinger-CMC. Anthony D. Aquilina, DO, will serve as Chief Medical Officer, succeeding Eugene Turchetti, MD, who expressed his desire to return to his private medical practice. Edward A. Chabalowski will join the organization as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Barbara Bossi, RN, has been appointed Associate Chief Administrative Officer. In addition, Sean McAndrew will serve as Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Wendy Wilson will serve as Associate Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing.

Aquilina has been serving as Associate Chief Medical Officer, Geisinger Northeast, and Medical Director, Health Services, Quality and Performance for Geisinger Health Plan. Chabalowski joins the organization from Temple University Health System in Philadelphia. Bossi continues her career at the medical center, having previously served in a number of positions from staff nurse to Chief Nursing Officer. A national search is underway for a CNO as she moves into her new operational role.
