<p>ALL CLASSES ARE TAUGHT ACCORDING TO THE NEW AHA GUIDELINES 2000.</p>
<p>The Basic Cardiac Life support (CPR) course is intended to offer the person who is interested, the knowledge and skills to be able to perform CPR. There are different courses available, such as Adult, Infant/Child, combination of both and the Healthcare Provider Course.</p>
<p>The Heartsaver CPR course is designed to teach CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the work place. Ex. Security guards, police, firefighters and other lay responders. It is for those people who are required to obtain a credential documenting completion of a CPR course. It can be adult only, Infant/child only or all three.</p>
<p>The Healthcare Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages. It is intended for physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMT, RTs, PTs, PAs, nursing students, to name a few.</p>
<p>The HeartSaver Course will be arranged with groups upon request.</p>

<p>The Basic Cardiac Life Support Renewal Course is intended to offer the person who has had the course to renew the knowledge and skills acquired in the Provider Course. The new guidelines will be taught in this course which includes teaching the AED.</p>

<p>CMC School of Nursing Building. All classes are held here at CMC.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008dcf;"><strong>Audience</strong></span></p>
<p>All Healthcare Providers who are due for renewal.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008dcf;"><strong>Prerequisite</strong></span></p>
<p>Pre-registration and payment in advance. Person <strong>must have had</strong> the Healthcare Provider Course</p>
<p>YOU WILL RENEW YOUR SKILLS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE TO YOUR LEVEL OF CPR:</p>
<p>Adult CPR and the Obstructed Airway Sequence<br />
Two man CPR<br />
Infant/Child CPR and the Obstructed Airway Sequence<br />
Use of a pocket mask<br />
Bag mask<br />
Use of an AED</p>
<p>Pre-registration and payment of fee is required in order to reserve space. Arrangements must also be made to pick up the book in advance of class. A study guide will be included because of the new guidelines. If you would like a new book, the cost is separate from cost of class. Class size is limited.</p>

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Program is a two-day training program intended for healthcare providers who participate in the resuscitation of patients in the hospital or pre-hospital setting. The course involves participants in a series of simulated cardiopulmonary cases to enhance their skills in the treatment of patients.</p>

Healthcare providers whose occupations require proficiency in ACLS skills.</p>
<p><strong>Topics Include:<br />
</strong>- The Basic Life Support (BLS) primary survey<br />
- The ACLS secondary survey<br />
- Effective resuscitation team dynamics<br />
- Management of the patient in cardiac arrest<br />
- Selection of treatment protocols using the ACLS algorithms</p>
