Ruth Renna, RN, named recipient of the American Heart Association Nursing Excellence Award

CMC nurse Ruth Renna, RN, was the recipient of the Nursing Excellence Award by the American Heart Association and the 2011 Lackawanna County Heart Ball Committee. Nurse Renna was recognized for demonstrating excellence in several key areas, including quality of patient care, creating a collaborative environment for the practice of nursing, being caring and compassionate, and for her contributions to healing and health within the community.

The announcement came at a CMC luncheon held in Nurse Renna’s honor where she learned she had been nominated by her peers. Because of her award, Nurse Renna will be attending the upcoming Lackawanna County Heart Ball on May 22 at Glenmaura Country Club as a guest of the American Heart Association. She will join several nurses from other local hospitals being honored for their contribution to improving the heart health of patients within our community.
